Saltwater Systems

The easiest way to keep a saltwater pool clean is to let the experts at Catoctin Pools service it for you. Our skilled pool technicians will keep your new salt chlorine generator free of white mineral deposits that can form on the inside of the unit. Keeping it clean will ensure that it will continue to work at full capacity. As your pool is used throughout the season, the salt content may need to be adjusted by our expert pool technicians.

Filter Cleaning or Replacement

When in good working order, swimming pool filters work to catch and collect dirt and debris in the pool before it can reach your water lines and pump. Cleaning keeps your pool water and the inner workings of components free from damaging debris and contaminates. Because of the important job that it does, it makes sense that your pool filter will get dirty with time. Luckily it can be repeatably cleaned before replacement becomes necessary.

How often you need a pool filter cleaning will depend on the type of filters you have along with several other factors. Weekly service from a professional pool cleaning company should ensure that you don’t have to worry.

In the meantime, there are a few things you can be mindful of that may indicate that your filter is needing to be cleaned.

  • The back pressure on the filtration system rises by about 10 PSI.
  • There’s an overall drop in the flow rate of your swimming pool’s circulation.
  • The water in your pool appears to be dirty or cloudy.

Pool School (for anyone new to pools)

Before you can properly enjoy or care for your pool, you might need to brush up on all the parts of your pool. You don’t need to take an annex course or go for your doctorate in swimology from Harvard. But knowing the basic parts of your pool, and their functions, helps you keep everything running smoothly—and makes it easier to resolve issues when they occur. Catoctin Pools can help with our “pool school” where we will show you the ins and outs of your entire system and how to maintain it.
